Digital Design Thinking • Ages 7–14
UX/UI for Kids is an 8-week program where children aged 7–14 learn to design digital products — apps, websites, and interfaces — the way real designers do. Students start with user research, learn wireframing and prototyping, and end with a clickable digital prototype they've designed from scratch. This is not a coding class — it's a design thinking class applied to the digital world, developing spatial thinking, empathy, and creativity.
Understand the difference between how something looks (UI) and how it works (UX).
Learn to interview users and map their needs, frustrations, and goals.
Turn user research into a clear design brief — the foundation of every great product.
Sketch low-fidelity layouts of your app or website on paper and digital tools.
Apply colours, typography, and visual hierarchy to bring your wireframes to life.
Build a clickable prototype and test it with real users. Present at showcase.
Children understand how apps and websites are designed — an essential skill as digital products shape every aspect of modern life.
Students develop the ability to communicate ideas visually — through layouts, colour, and hierarchy — a skill valued in every creative field.
Learning to design for other people, not just yourself, builds deep empathy and a research mindset.
Students build real clickable prototypes using beginner-friendly design tools, giving them a tangible portfolio piece.
Understanding what makes something beautiful and functional builds taste and creative confidence that lasts a lifetime.
Giving and receiving feedback on design work builds communication, listening, and constructive thinking skills.
Loves apps, games, or websites and wonders how they're made. Interested in art, design, or technology. Enjoys thinking about why things are easy or hard to use.
Your child doesn't need any design software experience. All tools used are beginner-friendly and chosen for this exact age group.
